Welham Lake is a picturesque Carp Fishery located within 18 acres of breathtaking woodland in Malton, North Yorkshire. Spanning 5.5 acres, this spring-fed lake is maintained by spring water from a borehole during the summer months. Known for its tranquil setting and top-notch facilities, Welham Lake is considered one of the premier day ticket lakes in the country. With 10 bookable pegs, Welham Lake offers some of the best carp fishing in the area. The lake is home to an array of wildlife, including buzzards, kingfishers, foxes, badgers, and deer, making it a fantastic location for nature watching and photography. In the winter, visitors can explore the underwater world of the lake through the Carp Academy. The lake is heavily stocked with Carp up to 26lb+, Tench up to 10lb+, and the occasional eel up to 4lb+. Despite its abundant fish population, Welham Lake is known for providing a challenging fishing experience. The swims are strategically placed to offer a sense of exclusivity, with anglers unable to see each other during the summer season. Welham Lake has garnered a reputation for its beauty, tranquillity, and quality of fishing. The lake management plan aims to have around 100 fish over 20lb in the future.
