Information
Dog Lane Fishery is a picturesque fishing spot nestled in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, just a short distance from the charming village of Napton. This serene and secluded location offers a peaceful retreat for anglers of all skill levels and ages. The fishery boasts three lakes, with the two Specimen lakes now available for booking on Catch. These lakes are home to a variety of carp, including stunning commons and scaley mirror carp weighing in at over 35lb. The highlight of Dog Lane Fishery is the highly esteemed Grebe Lake, which features 14 spacious bivvy-friendly swims that have been carefully landscaped with gravel. Stocked with approximately 270 carp, many of which exceed 20lb, Grebe Lake presents a challenge for anglers due to the high stocking levels. The lake's depths range from 4 to 9 feet, with a hard and clean clay bottom. Fishing in the margins is highly recommended throughout the year, as the carp are known to frequent these areas. Anglers may need to showcase their best angling skills to catch these elusive fish, but multiple catches are still common. Zig rigs can be effective in the colder months, while solid bags with barrel Wafters and fishery pellets work well during the summer. Wigeon Lake, the newest addition to the complex, was restocked in 2017 with a selection of VS fisheries fish. This intimate lake features four well-spaced swims and is home to carp weighing over 20lb, with the current record standing at 37lb 12oz. The lake's depths range from 3 to 6 feet, with a clean clay substrate that makes bait presentation easy. Anglers often target the far bank of Wigeon Lake, as it is a popular feeding spot for the carp. However, fishing down the middle or near the margins can also yield great results, especially during the night. Various bait options, including PVA bags with barrel Wafters, mesh bags with fishery pellets, and bright pop-ups, have proven successful in catching carp. The lake is regularly netted to remove nuisance fish, allowing anglers to use small hook baits without worry. Dog Lane Fishery is open for bookings from 16th March, offering anglers the opportunity to experience the tranquility and excitement of fishing in this stunning countryside location. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a beginner, Dog Lane Fishery provides a truly memorable fishing experience for all.
